About us

Fullerton plumbing, under a license you can check

Our plumbing work in Fullerton, the town Edward Amerige staked out in a mustard field in 1887, runs under a C-36 license, and Fullerton is one of our 10 locations in Orange County. California license #1131308 covers each job and the bond is on file with the state. A person answers the phone at any hour, holidays included.

From Fullerton, in the north of Orange County, we take plumbing calls through the day and the night. The people who phone own or rent houses and condos, manage apartment buildings, sit on HOA boards or run small businesses, and every one of those calls is picked up by a person, not a menu.

If the trouble starts at night

SoCal Emergency Plumbing Fullerton is set up for the calls that will not keep: a washer hose bursting behind the dryer, an upstairs toilet soaking through the ceiling, a water heater dripping onto the garage floor. Before you hang up, we help you find the shutoff (most often the main valve on the pipe where water comes into the house, or the one inside the meter box near the curb), and a plumber sets off toward you from the closest of our 10 Orange County locations. For an address in Fullerton, that means our Fullerton location.

Fullerton began on July 5, 1887, when Edward Amerige drove a stake into a mustard field at what is now the corner of Harbor Boulevard and Commonwealth Avenue. The town was named for George H. Fullerton, who ran a land company owned by the Santa Fe railroad; it became a city in 1904 and formed its own water system in 1906, for a community of orange and walnut growers. The houses are younger than the town, though not by much: about 71 percent were built in 1979 or earlier, and the median house went up in 1969. Fullerton's oldest homes stand in its historic districts (Townsite East, College Park, the Jacaranda, Malvern and Brookdale district, Golden Hill and Hillcrest Drive), many of them bungalows put up between 1920 and 1940, with Townsite East older still. Drain lines and sewer laterals that old can crack, sag or fill with roots. Sunny Hills is known for ranch houses from the mid-1950s into the 1970s, and Fullerton Groves holds 286 California Modern homes from 1953 to 1957; at that age, supply lines, shutoff valves and water heaters wear out. Amerige Heights, on the old Hughes Aircraft site, went up between 2001 and 2004. All of them draw the same water, about 77 percent groundwater and the rest imported through Metropolitan, at roughly 14 grains per gallon; the city's own word for it is very hard. And the owner keeps the sewer lateral all the way to the city main, the part under the street included. That is why the plumber tests the line, reads the pressure or runs a camera before anyone mentions cost.

License and bond, open to anyone

CSLB #1131308 (C-36 Plumbing) covers our work in every city. The state also holds our bond for $25,000, and one search on the CSLB site shows the two side by side.

Someone real on the phone

Ring at 3 a.m., on a Sunday evening or on Christmas morning, and a person who can actually help answers. You will not meet a recorded menu or a voicemail box.

Based in Fullerton

Our base is Fullerton, one of 10 company locations spread around Orange County. Whichever of them lies closest to the job sends the plumber.

Tidy from start to finish

Drop cloths go down before a tool comes out, the old fittings ride away with the plumber, and the fixed pipe is the only trace of the visit.

What you get on paper

Plain answers

You are told what broke and what caused it in everyday language, and nobody pushes you toward work that your pipes can do without.

Written estimate first

You read the estimate, ask whatever you like and sign it. Only after that does any work begin.

Covered once it is done

Our written workmanship warranty stands behind every repair and every installation. Should a repair we made give way, we come back and do it again.

The work we do

In Fullerton most plumbing trouble comes back to two things, old pipe and hard water. Picture a lateral full of roots under a College Park bungalow, a leak in the aging supply line of a Sunny Hills ranch house, a tank heater half full of scale, a kitchen drain choked with cooking grease, or a faucet cartridge seized by mineral deposits. The services below link to pages that list the first signs of each problem and explain how the fix is done.

24/7 Emergency Plumbing

Split pipes, sewage backing up, water coming through a ceiling: the problems that cannot sit overnight.

Drain Cleaning & Hydro Jetting

From a slow bathroom sink to a main line packed with roots or grease, cleared, then filmed with a sewer camera so the open line is there for you to see.

Water Heater Repair & Installation

Tank and tankless heaters repaired, descaled or replaced; at about 14 grains per gallon, Fullerton water leaves plenty behind. A new tank is strapped against earthquakes in two places, and its relief valve drains through a pipe of its own to a safe point, both of them California code requirements.

Sewer Repair & Repiping

Cracked or root-bound laterals repaired or replaced, trenchless when the condition of the line allows it, with a city public works permit when the work reaches under the street. Whole-house repipes put in new PEX or copper where old steel or thinning copper used to be.

Leak & Gas Leak Detection

Hidden leaks below the slab or inside a wall pinned down before anything is opened, and gas piping we repair has to pass a pressure test before the gas comes back on.

Where we work

Fullerton is our base. Counting it, we keep 10 locations across Orange County, and no call goes without 24-hour emergency response. This site has pages for Fullerton, La Habra, Placentia, Buena Park, Anaheim, La Palma and Stanton. Every other city and unincorporated community in the county, from Brea and Yorba Linda down to San Clemente, has no page here but gets the same service.

California license #1131308

SoCal Plumbing Co Inc is the holder of record. Look the number up with the CSLB and the record shows its status, its class and its bond, so you can see all of it before a plumber ever knocks.

$25,000 contractor bond

Nationwide writes it. On the CSLB record it sits right beside the license, open for any owner, renter, property manager or HOA board to check.

Permits pulled and closed

At a Fullerton address, water heaters, repipes, gas lines and other new or replaced plumbing are permitted by the City of Fullerton Building and Safety Division, and rebuilding a sewer lateral under a street, alley or easement takes a separate city public works permit. In La Habra, Placentia, Buena Park, Anaheim and every other city, the permit comes from that city. Rossmoor, North Tustin and the other unincorporated communities go through the county's public works department instead. We close each permit we open, after the inspector has signed it off.

Written workmanship warranty

It reaches every repair and installation we do. You will find its terms on the estimate you sign and once more on the invoice, and if our work lets you down, the plumber comes back to put it right.

From call to fix

What happens after you dial, step by step

  1. 1

    You reach a person

Phone us or use the form. Whether it is lunchtime or 2 a.m., a person takes the details of what is going wrong.

  2. 2

    A visit is set

We agree on when the plumber arrives. Water still spreading counts as an emergency and is handled that way.

  3. 3

    Cause, then a written price

The plumber tracks down the source first, then puts the price on paper. Work starts only after you approve it.

  4. 4

    Checked and cleaned up

We run the repair in front of you, clean the area we worked in and haul the old parts away.

Leak, backup or burst pipe

Day or night, this phone is picked up by a person.

Close the main water valve first. In most Fullerton houses that valve sits on the pipe entering the building, or else in the curbside meter box. Once it is off, call us; we stay on the line with you, and a plumber comes out from the nearest of our locations.
